Southern Automotive Wholersalers, Inc.

 Who Is Southern Automotive?

Southern Automotive was founded in 1981 by Thomas Tyson and Jeffrey Fast. The company was originally located in Detroit, MI. and manufactured rebuilt starters and alternators for sales to local auto parts stores. The firm quickly outgrew its original facilities, and in 1983 moved to Royal Oak, MI.. Continued growth necessitated the company's move to our Pontiac, MI. location in 1986.

In 1985, the firm expanded its marketplace to include defense contracting. Since our initial step into the defense contracting arena, Southern Automotive has continued to develop its expertise in the area of heavy industrial and military application starters, alternators, generators and regulators.

In order to capitalize on the experience gained in government sales of our primary product line (starters, alternators, and voltage regulators), Southern Automotive has expanded into numerous unrelated product lines under our Alternate Commodities Division. We have successfully bid and delivered automotive filters, exhaust systems, fence products and other non-related items to the U.S. Government. Southern Automotive's reason for existence is captured in the Southern Automotive Mission Statement shown below.
