Dear Jeff Hotchkiss:
I am continuing to carbon copy you regarding the ongoing
correspondence between our small business, Southern
Automotive Wholesalers Inc., and Federal Prison Industries
Inc.
I am contacting you and as part of our effort to prevent
F.P.I. from becoming a mandatory source of supply for the
electronic automotive parts we manufacture. As President of
Southern Automotive, I live in your district (Hartland), and
I am hoping you can help. I hope that you will take notice
and recognize that what F.P.I. is doing is unethical,
illegal, and just plain wrong. I don't believe that taking
needed jobs out of our community and forcing us to go out of
business is going to help anyone. F.P.I. is a huge,
unregulated, U S Government sponsored corporation, with
uncontrolled power and no one to keep it in check. While our
legislators are trying to keep the economy strong and keep
Americans working, F.P.I. is plundering certain job markets
unchecked.
I have enclosed copies of several congressional bills that
are attempting to stop this tirade against innocent hard
working Americans. I am hoping your office can give me some
representation when we attend the Board of Directors Hearing
at F.P.I. in Washington D C, on May 25, 1999, regarding the
expansion into FSC code 2920. I cannot believe that the
Presidentially appointed Board of Directors of F.P.I. is
unaware of what they are allowing to happen. I believe they
are intentionally disregarding the statutory requirements put
into place and should be held accountable. Please help us
bring this issue to the attention of anyone who can help.
Respectfully,
Thomas Tyson
President
Southern Automotive Wholesalers Inc.
