This gear reduction starter (Style II) can be installed and is completely interchangeable with SAW-405546 (style I), starter except support bracket is not used. The support bracket and attaching hardware is supplied on all new engines to provide for proper installation of Style "I" direct drive starters when used as a replacement component parts are not interchangeable between starters. Refer to the exploded view for parts breakdown on the Style II starter

CAUTION:
Support bracket and the attaching hardware must remain on the engine to insure proper installation of style 'I' starters!
